NEMO Amsterdam is open daily in high season, from April to August. In the low season from September to March,  NEMO Amsterdam is normally closed on Mondays.

High season – Daily  10:00 – 17:30
Low season – Tuesday to Sunday  10:00 – 17:30

NEMO Amsterdam is located at Oosterdok 2 which is very close to Amsterdam Central Station. When you are at Amsterdam Central Station, NEMO is very easy to recognize by its unique color and shape — just look for a copper-green building! It really is a one of a kind structure. It is meant to be a ship that is rising from the waters above Amsterdam’s IJ tunnel. The picture on the right is how NEMO looks from the outside.

  1. Is the NEMO Science Museum wheelchair accessible?
    Yes! Visitors using wheelchairs or strollers and prams are able to easily access the museum. Elevators and ramps can be found throughout.
  2. Can my child visit the NEMO Museum alone?
    Children aged 12 and above may visit the museum without an adult, but they may not supervise a younger child. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a supervisor aged 16 or above.
  3. Do groups get a discount?
    Yes, there are special discounted prices for groups, with free admission for the supervisors. See “Tickets and Prices” above.

Nemo Amsterdam is located at Amsterdam Central Station. In this case any transport that brings you to Amsterdam Central Station, will lead you directly to Nemo Amsterdam. From Amsterdam Central Station it is a 5 minute walk to Oosterdok 2, which is the address of the Nemo museum. Find a tram, metro or bus that will bring you to Amsterdam Central Station!

This museum is amazing with kids, did not see them for hours.

Really Entertaining!

It’s amazing how the museum both educates and entertains at the same time. You can really learn while enjoying yourself. That said, you shouldn’t go there if you don’t like children as the place is swarmed with kids.
